Over time, we’ll be able to refine and cross-pollinate creators’ audiences in a way that will let you focus even more on creating, and your audience will continue to grow as we surface your work to the right people.
Discover works by recommending your products to buyers of related work after they’ve made a sale. Recommended products will show up on receipts and download pages. But that’s not all. Now, products by creators with Discover enabled are also searchable at gumroad.com/discover.
Products purchased by new customers via Discover— on receipts, download pages, and at gumroad.com/discover— are subject to an additional 10% fee. We believe that’s a fair and small price for selling your work to people who weren’t in your audience before (but who then become part of it!). This additional fee will only be applied to purchases made by customers who haven’t purchased from you before, in other words, to purchases made by customers who find you for the first time via Discover. The fee for products sold by you directly to your audience or otherwise outside of the Discover feature will remain at 5% + 25¢ per transaction.
If Gumroad is just a small tool in your toolbox and you’re fine with your audience growth strategy, no problem. Simply go to your settings page and disable Discover.
